Seminar indicative content:

  • The journey from conception to birth, followed by the first years of infancy, holds many challenges for the developing child.
  • This seminar will explore this extraordinary journey by encompassing the perspectives of both mother and infant from an osteopathic viewpoint.
  • This fascinating program will help to enhance your knowledge of the changes that occur before and after birth, and some of the issues which might arise.
  • The course will be mainly practical and based on real clinical cases on-site to assess and treat, so as to teach how as osteopaths we can offer appropriate and effective support to our infant patients, with a focus on the fascial system.
  • The program includes 3 days on the osteopathic fascial evaluation and treatment of babies and their most common disorders, ranging from colics to sleep problems, from birth trauma to respiratory infections.
  • Theory and practical sessions will be alternating in high-quality teaching based on clinical analysis, synthesis and integration.

Objectives

  • To present the structure and function interrelationship of the fascial system in babies
  • To introduce effective procedures for evaluation of the fascial system in infants, including various tensional, gliding, listening and pressure tests
  • To propose several fascial mechanisms by which somatic dysfunction may be induced and maintained
  • To illustrate the most common fascial techniques in pediatric osteopathy, ranging from direct myofascial release to fascial unwinding
  • To present the osteopathic rationale behind the fascial treatment of the most common disorders in childhood
  • To elaborate on an osteopathic intervention on babies based on clinical analysis, synthesis and integration
